Creating Brand Collaterals for NBA’s Filipino Heritage Week
As a designer, I recently had the opportunity to work on a project that got me really excited: creating brand collaterals for the NBA’s Filipino Heritage Week. This event celebrates the rich cultural heritage of the Filipino community and their contributions to the sport of basketball. With the hashtag #FilipinoHeritageWeek, the NBA aimed to engage fans and promote inclusivity.
Conceptualizing the Design
When conceptualizing the design for the brand collaterals, I wanted to incorporate elements that would resonate with basketball and Filipino culture. I decided to use vibrant colours inspired by the Philippine flag, such as red, blue, and yellow. The design featured a basketball with traditional Filipino patterns and motifs, creating a unique and eye-catching visual.
Designing the Collaterals
With this concept in mind, I began designing various collaterals for the event. I created posters, social media graphics, and merchandise like t-shirts and caps. Each collateral had a consistent look and feel, ensuring the brand identity was maintained throughout all touchpoints.
The posters were designed to be bold and attention-grabbing, with the event details prominently displayed. The social media graphics were optimized for sharing and engagement, with catchy captions and visually appealing imagery. The merchandise designs incorporated the event logo and tagline, allowing fans to show their support in style.
Overall, the process of creating brand collaterals for NBA’s Filipino Heritage Week was an exciting and fulfilling experience. It allowed me to showcase my design skills while celebrating and promoting the rich Filipino culture. I hope the collaterals I created helped create awareness and generate excitement for the event among NBA fans and the Filipino community.
